Many things can be done with a history degree, but I chose to work within the history of art and fashion. Fashions of by gone days were truly works of art! With fabric and skill, I have taken tremendous pride in creating reproduction clothing, and since 1984, creating gowns of old is what I have been doing.
Over the years, I have witnessed many different avenues with concern to the Victorian and Edwardian fashions. Single Action Shooting Society (SASS), Living History Programs (both Government and Private), and many women who just simply want to have Historical Reproduction clothing to wear for Weddings and Holidays. It is refreshing to step back into time, and I am all to glad to help them do that.
My personal absolute favorites eras to work within are the Victorian and Edwardian time period. I love the bustle gowns of the 1870's and 1880's, with the Free Form style in between. I am enchanted with the draping, pleats and trims ... the lushness of the fabrics, along with its' weight and feel. Truly these era's dressed women in such a romantic way!
For all, my promise is a simple one. You will receive a gown that is well made and durable, as well as properly constructed with linings, interlining, and boning. Fabric and thread quality is high, as are the items used for embellishment. Many hours of research have gone into the gowns created; therefore, you can count on a gown that will be historically correct in its' style.
